Research student looking for a private room in NYC

my name is Martha, and I’m a medical student from Berlin, Germany. I recently finished my fourth year of medical school and will be turning 24 in October. I’m moving to NYC in the end of October for a one-year research stay at Columbia University, where I’ll be working full-time in a lab as part of my medical doctoral thesis.

A little about me: I’m open-minded, outgoing, and always happy to meet new people. In my free time, I love being outdoors, grabbing coffee, going thrifting, swimming, running and exploring new places all over the world. I also like to dance and listen to all different kinds of music. One of my all time favorite musicians is Amy Winehouse.

I’m currently looking for a furnished room or sublet in NYC. I’ve lived with roommates for the past four years and have always really enjoyed the experience. As a roommate, I’d consider myself clean, organized, considerate, and easygoing. I value and respect everyone’s privacy and personal space. During the weekdays I will probably be quite busy working in the lab. I don’t cook very often, and I’m generally flexible when it comes to living arrangements and happy to adapt to the vibe of the apartment.

Since I’ll be new to the city, I’d love to live with people who might occasionally be up for exploring NYC or hanging out together—but, of course, there’s absolutely no pressure.
