Social Worker + Sweet Cat Seeking Home 🐱

Hi! I’m a 28 year old female looking for a room (or potentially the right person to buddy up with!) for an October 1 move-in. I currently live in Bed-Stuy and have approximately an hour commute to work in Manhattan and am hoping to stay within about an hour commute of work.
I work full-time in healthcare as a social worker and have a regular Monday–Friday schedule. I’d describe myself as clean, considerate, communicative, independent, and easy to live with. I have my own life and definitely appreciate alone time, but I’d really love to live with someone I can actually become friends with too! Whether it’s watching Netflix, cooking together, playing board games, talking about our days, going out occasionally, or trying something new.
Speaking of trying new things, I tend to rotate through random hobbies and classes. Lately that’s included Pilates, pottery, and improv! I love getting out and doing things, but I also really value home being a comfortable, clean, peaceful place to come back to. I’d ideally live with someone who feels similarly: social and down to have fun, but not regularly bringing the party home.
I also come with Turkey, my very sweet rescue cat! He’s indoor-only, neutered, litter-box reliable, non-destructive, and loves people. He has gotten along with another cat before after a slow introduction, so I’m open to living with someone who has a pet too, as long as we’re thoughtful about introductions and make sure everyone is comfortable.
As far as the apartment itself, I’m pretty flexible! Furnished or unfurnished is fine, and I’m okay sharing a bathroom with one other person (although a private bathroom would obviously be a bonus!). A closet, some kind of shared living space, and laundry in the building are important to me (in-unit laundry would be amazing but definitely isn't expected).
I’m hoping to find somewhere I can stay for at least a year, so finding the right home and roommate fit is more important to me than just finding the first available room.
