60+ Retired Female Seeking Quiet, Furnished Room or Basement Apartment in Female-Occupied Home — $1,000 Max

Looking for a peaceful place to live — not a new social life. Furnished is preferred! 😊

I'm a retired woman in my 60s looking for a comfortable, quiet place to call home in Baltimore County or surrounding areas outside Baltimore City.

I'm looking for a private living arrangement in a home occupied by only one other woman — ideally the female homeowner/landlord.

A furnished unit or furnished bedroom is preferred, as I'm looking for a simple, comfortable setup without having to move a houseful of furniture.

🏡 What I'm Looking For

My ideal situation is either:

A private, furnished basement apartment with its own private entrance, OR
A furnished private bedroom with its own private bathroom in a woman's home

VERY IMPORTANT: I would be the only other person renting/living in the home.

In other words, just you and me — not me plus three roommates, two cousins, a college student, somebody's boyfriend, and somebody's nephew who is “only staying for a few weeks.” 😂

I would also consider some areas WITHIN Baltimore City if the location and living arrangement are a good fit.

👩 A Little About Me

I'm a retired woman, 60+, and I promise I'm the roommate every landlord dreams of and never gets. I don't smoke, drink, party, or stay out past my own bedtime. I don't own a TV or a pet. But a fairly full bookcase would definitely get a smile out of me. 😊
My evenings are Zoom calls, YouTube deep-dives, webinars, and books. My idea of a wild Friday night is finishing a chapter and going to sleep. I drive a perfectly respectable old car that has never once hosted a party in the driveway.

I'm also preparing for my next adventure: I'm planning to relocate to a Latin American country sometime in the next 10–12 months or so. I'm currently downsizing and figuring out the logistics, so I don't have an exact move-abroad date yet.

Once I'm settled into my new place, I'll be taking Spanish lessons online — because apparently moving to Latin America means I should eventually learn more than how to say “¿Dónde está el baño?” 😂

🤫 My Ideal Home Environment

I'm looking for QUIET.
I appreciate a home where we:

Respect each other's privacy and keep noise to a reasonable level
Don't have parties or frequent visitors
Don't smoke or drink
Don't blast TV or music
Don't expect constant socializing

I'm friendly and pleasant, but I'm also very comfortable being independent.

I'm not looking for a roommate who needs a new best friend.

I'm looking for someone who can say:

“Good morning!”
...and then happily go about her day. 😊

And I'd like the phrase “utilities included” to actually mean utilities included. 😄

❤️ What I Hope to Find

I'd love to find a mature woman who owns and lives in her home and also values a quiet, respectful living environment.

You have your life.

I have mine.

We respect each other's space.

We communicate when something needs to be discussed.

We keep the home peaceful.

And neither of us has to wonder what kind of roommate is going to walk through the front door next month.

That sounds pretty close to perfect to me.

Unfurnished may also be considered if the rest of the arrangement is an excellent fit.

One Last Thing...

I'm not looking for a luxurious mansion or a resort.
And I have absolutely no interest in a balcony, pool or deck.

Why?
Because I can't live on or in any of them. 😂

Give me a room with four walls, a door, a roof, a private bathroom, somewhere to park my car, working A/C and heat, a place to cook, and a desk or table where I can sit with my laptop — plus a comfortable bed to peacefully sleep on.

I'm good.

In fact, if your home has a spectacular
resort-style pool but the bedroom is $1,100...

I'm going to admire the pool from a safe financial distance. 😂
