Return to NYC/Skng Rm for 1-4 mo during apt. hunt

I am a professional male who has been a NYC resident for 14 years but have been away for most of the last two of them, in Chicago, given a family situation. I am thrilled to finally be returning to NYC at end of Aug. and am seeking a temporary place(s) to stay over the couple/few months while looking for my next long-term lease.

I am looking for a small or large room. I am available to move from 08/30/2026 and have a budget of $1,200-$1,700/month. I am 61 years old (though most people guess 45:). I am an introvert and spend any spare time outside of work volunteering, reading, exercising, and taking long walks - preferably in nature. My preference in terms of roommates is males, ideally between 30 and 60 years old - but I that's not a top concern.

I work from home (or local cafes, etc.); volunteer for a few organizations; and am taking a class. I tend to be introverted and devote most of my spare time to reading, exercise, and my volunteer duties (which are in the areas of restoring democracy; LGBTQ+ rights; mental wellness; and animal rescue.)

My career is in non-fiction mission-driven short form video producing; so there are days, on occasion, when I am not working at home, as I am on location for a shoot.
