Seeking communicative and easy-to-talk-to roomies
Hi! I'm Sky. I've been living in San Francisco for more than two years, and I've really enjoyed experiencing the diversity here. Sometimes it can feel confusing, but I see it as part of learning, growing, and understanding different perspectives!
A little about me: I used to work in special education, and now I work as a babysitter. I speak Mandarin and Cantonese, and my English is almost fluent. Writing is actually one of my strongest skills because I have time to process my thoughts and express myself clearly lol
I usually cook by senses - simple meals rather than following recipes. I would love to share authentic Chinese food from different parts of the Bay Area and cook together as a way to connect.
I'm also happy to contribute in small ways when someone does something kind for me. For example, if you are open to drive and try the new resturants, I'd be happy to buy you coffee. I believe healthy relationships are two-ways thing and not take for granted.
Personality-wise, I have a quiet energy and I'm usually a slow warm-up person. I may seem quiet at first, but I actually have a good sense of humor😆
Some things I enjoy:
Books like Attached, When Things Don't Go Your Way, and Letters from Strangers
Shows like Queer Eye and Love on the Spectrum
Movies like Ghost, Sister Act, The Help, The Green Mile, Love, Simon, and Heartstopper
Music like Cigarettes After Sex
Visiting bookstores, stationery shops, libraries, cozy cafés, art fairs(especially the one at fort masion)
I like Christmas traditions and preparing gifts for friends. The smell of clean laundry and freshly cut grass
My weekday schedule is usually very busy. I normally come home after 10:30 pm, shower, and go to sleep because I wake up around 6 am. My weekends are my free time, and I usually spend them exploring the city, going to meetups, visiting bookstores/libraries, or relaxing at a café. I'd also love to have a movie night together on a Friday evening as a way to reset after a busy week:)
One of my dreams is to live in different countries someday, study the language, and truly immerse myself in the culture and daily life.
For housing, ideally I'm looking for a private room with a lot of natural light and big windows. I would love to live with a couple because I appreciate consistent communication and the possibility of building a genuine connection, but it's not a requirement.
I hope to live with people who are:
Communicative and responsive;
Culturally aware and comfortable expressing feelings;
Willing to check in with each other from time to time;
My budget is around $1,000–$1,200/month including utilities.
I need to take the N line, so ideally I'm looking for somewhere close to a Muni station.
I respect house rules and would love to sit down over coffee with the right match to talk about expectations and details. Also, please excuse me if sometimes my messages come across differently — I appreciate direct but kind communication, and I'm always open to feedback.
I'm not looking for just a place to stay. I'm sincerely hoping to find a home where people can respect each other, support each other, and being comfortable living together!!
