Mid-30s political consultant moving Nov DC ➡️ NYC

I'm in my mid 30s and work in political consulting. Moving up from DC in November to be closer to family and friends. I've lived in New York twice before.

I have a busy work schedule but I'd rather live somewhere people end up in the living room than a place where everyone goes straight to their room. I cook a few nights a week. I usually work from home several days a week.

I've lived in a utility closet, couch surfed, and been nomadic for stretches. Mostly that means I'm easy about space and don't need things a particular way. I would like enough room to stay put for a few years.

One thing I actually care about whether it's Manhattan or Brooklyn: a quieter street with easy access to fun and good groceries.

I keep common spaces clean. Past that I don't fuss.

I'm in DC until my lease ends, but I come up regularly and can plan trips around viewings. Happy to do a video call first and see the place in person after.

Looking in Williamsburg, Greenpoint, Bed-Stuy, Park Slope, Fort Greene, Clinton Hill, or Manhattan below Central Park. Up to $3,000. My DC lease ends November 15, so ideally moving in around then.
