Graduate Student Moving to Seattle

I'm moving to Seattle this fall to begin graduate school in East Asian Medicine and am looking for a room to rent in a safe neighborhood near good places to walk and recharge in nature with plenty of natural light and/or a balcony or yard I can use regularly. I'd prefer West Seattle or similar vibe and within 15-25 minutes of Georgetown. Happy to share an apartment. I'd need room enough for a queen bed, an electric piano, small desk, bookcase, and storage for clothing, food and a massage table (it can stay folded up). I can leave behind most my kitchenware if helpful. Good access to washer and dryer or my own is pretty crucial since I'm an LMT and will be washing sheets regulrly.

A little about me: I have six children, most of whom are grown. My two youngest (ages 9 and 13) may visit me a few times a year for a weekend or up to a week. My partner may visit about once a month for a weekend--all these visits is why I'd need a queen bed to share and possibly a coach or floor space for a mat for a second someone to sleep on. Most of the time, though, I'll be flying home to Utah every 2–3 weeks to spend time with family. I'm hoping to keep my housing costs reasonable to help offset tuition and travel expenses while I'm in school.

A little more about me if its helpful:

I was a professional classical musician and teacher for 30 years and business owner with my former husband (who was a luthier) before becoming a licensed massage therapist. This fall I'll be a full-time graduate student studying acupuncture and East Asian Medicine. I'm clean, responsible, financially stable (830 credit score), and I take pride in being an easy person to live with. Between classes, clinic, studying, and work, I'll be away from the house most weekdays.

I don't smoke, rarely drink, and appreciate a clean, respectful home. I'm allergic to cats, rabbits, hamsters, horses, and most dogs that shed, although hypoallergenic dogs are generally fine. If I have my own private space (especially with a small kitchenette), pets elsewhere on the property are not a problem.

Having raised six children, I know how to share a home well. I'm considerate of common spaces, communicate openly, clean up after myself, and believe that good roommates assume positive intent, own their mistakes, and work through issues with kindness and honesty. Home is a place to exhale.

My ideal move-in date is mid to late September, although I could move in as early as August 29 for the right fit (I can stay with a cousin for up to a month starting Aug 29).
