First Ever LGBTQ+ Creative to Move to Brooklyn
I just turned 31 and have been living in London, England for the past 5 years. I unfortunately didn’t pick up the accent, but I can make up for it by being decently funny (on a good day) and I’ve been a professional photographer for about 10 years, so I can take the pics for your social media, dating apps, and linkedin📸
Idk I’m single (ladies, ladies, please calm down) so maybe a bummer for me but a bonus for you bc I won’t have a partner around all the time. I’ve also got a few close friends in the city already and I love being out and about in my free time, but am always down to hang whether it’s just chilling or going out somewhere.
I’ve been working as a freelance photographer mainly for events (gonna name drop taking piccies for Mac Miller on his final tour real quick bc that's obviously been the highlight of my career), but am moving more into Public Relations work. I got my Bachelor’s in Public Relations and Psychology at the University of Florida and my Master’s in Documentary Photography & Photojournalism in London.
Some more kinda boring but important basics:
I’m looking to move in August or September and could do short term or long term. Trying to stay within a reasonable budget but I know it’s New York lol. I can work with furnished or unfurnished and would love to not have the tiniest room ever, but again I know it’s New York!
I keep my things tidy and I’m used to sharing common areas with my roommates like the kitchen, living room, bathroom etc. and always completely pick up after myself/leave everything looking basically unused by me. I’m very easy going and of course would love a normal nice comfortable common area for everybody. I don’t have any of my own pets but loveee any animals too.
I’ve been living with roommates since I was 19 and I always get along with people easily. I love to socialize and can talk and joke around with anybody lol, but also prioritize personal downtime to recharge and totally respect the same for anyone else. I’m respectful of noise and anything too and like to occasionally have a friend or two over, but have never been someone to host a group of friends at my place before. Happy for anyone else to have people over though!
Having a washer/dryer would be amazing, although I know it’s not super common so it’d just be a bonus. Definitely need wifi and a window in the room so I don’t feel like I’m in a cage lmao but I’m otherwise pretty easy with most things. It’d be nice to be somewhat near a station too.
If there’s anything else you’d like to know that I forgot to include, please ask! And if you think we’d be a good roommate match, def reach out😊
