40yo Professional Seeking Chill Home by the Water

Hey, I'm Shane. I'm a 40-year-old New Yorker relocating to San Diego in September 2026, and I'm hoping to find a room in a welcoming home with one or two friendly, easygoing roommates.

I've worked remotely as a web developer for the past several years, which has given me the opportunity to travel quite a bit. Along the way, I realized I'm happiest in places with sunshine, easy access to the ocean, and a lifestyle that naturally supports good health. San Diego checks all those boxes, so I'm excited to make it home.

Ideally I'm looking in Crown Point, North Pacific Beach, Ocean Beach, or Oceanside – somewhere west of the 5 and close enough to the water that I can bike or walk most places. I'll have my car with me, but I'd love biking to be my primary way of getting around.

My income is steady and reliable, and I can provide proof of income as well as excellent references if helpful.

I'd describe myself as an introverted extrovert. I genuinely enjoy getting to know people and hanging out with roommates, but I also appreciate quiet evenings and having space to recharge. Health is a big part of my life—I enjoy strength training and exercise, eating well, spending time outside, soaking up the sunshine, and living a relatively low-stress lifestyle. Once I get settled, I'm looking forward to joining some recreational sports leagues and becoming part of the community.

Around the house, I'm clean, considerate, and respectful of shared spaces. I cook most of my meals, clean up after myself, and try to make home feel peaceful for everyone. I've recently gotten into making cold-pressed juices and herbal tea blends, so don't be surprised if I offer you a glass or a cup.

More than anything, I'm looking for a home and roommates that I can come home to and feel at ease and in good company.
