Room wanted in New Brunswick, NJ

Hey everyone! 👋
I’m Sarnan (he/him), an incoming international grad student starting the MCM program this fall ('26). I’m officially landing around August 20th and looking for a place to call home, or some awesome people to find a place with!
’m looking for a private room in a shared house around the New Brunswick area (budget: $850–$1000/month). I'd love to move in the week of September 1st, but I’m super flexible and can easily make an August 23rd move-in work, too.
A quick bit about me: I’ve spent the last 5+ years in the corporate world and have lived across three different countries and a handful of cities. Because of that, I’m very low-drama (I think), tidy, and used to the rhythm of shared living. When I’m not studying, you can usually find me cooking, running, rock climbing, or scouting out great food and wines. I love a good chat over a glass of wine, but I also completely respect the need for quiet, personal downtime.
What I’m looking for / My ideal setup:
Flexibility: I am totally open to a short-term sublease (3–6 months) if you just need a room filled, or I’d love to link up with a few like-minded people to start a brand new lease together!
The Vibe: An LGBTQ+ and pet-friendly space. I love a home filled with good music (lots of jazz, lounge, and movie scores), occasional game nights, or casual watch parties.
House Rules: I definitely prefer quiet weekdays to focus on school, and a shared commitment to keeping common spaces clean. I don't mind smokers, as long as it's kept outside.
Travel Note: I travel fairly often, and occasionally I’ll have a friend visit and crash in my room for a bit to keep me company.
