Couple Seeking Safe Place to Stay Asap

This is one of the hardest things I've ever had to write.

My wife and I are a responsible couple in our 50s who have unexpectedly found ourselves homeless. We're hoping someone has a room, apartment, guest house, RV, boat, or other safe place where we could stay, even if only temporarily. If possible, we're hoping to find something as soon as tonight. We're open to anything from a few days to several months.

Right now, because the only place I have to sleep is a tent, my wife is staying somewhere else while I continue searching for housing. Being forced to live apart has been heartbreaking for both of us. The stress, uncertainty, and emotional toll of not knowing where we'll be from one day to the next have put an incredible strain on our marriage. We miss each other terribly, and every day we spend apart makes this situation even harder. I'm doing everything I can to find us a safe, stable place where we can be together again before this hardship causes permanent damage to our relationship.

We're waiting for our out-of-state home to sell. Until then, I'm asking for the opportunity to earn our stay through honest work. Once our home sells, I will gladly pay any agreed-upon accrued rent.

I also have some income through a small startup company. The hours are sporadic right now, but it provides at least some income while I continue looking for additional work.

I have years of experience maintaining homes and properties. I'm extremely handy and can help with just about anything around a home or property, including:

* Home repairs and maintenance
* Cleaning and organizing
* Painting
* Yard work and landscaping
* Basic plumbing and electrical troubleshooting
* Automotive repair
* Electronics and technology
* General handyman work
* Property maintenance and upkeep

We have two extremely well-behaved Shih Tzus. They are quiet, friendly, house-trained, and respectful indoors.

About us:

* We do not drink or use illegal drugs.
* My wife uses marijuana where legal, and we both smoke cigarettes, but we are happy to smoke outside or completely off the property.
* We can provide personal and professional references.
* I willingly consent to a background check.

We are looking only for a respectful housing arrangement. We kindly ask that anyone responding understand that we are seeking only a professional housing-for-work (or future rent) arrangement. We are **not** interested in any romantic or intimate expectations of any kind.

For everyone's peace of mind, I'm happy to prepare and sign a written agreement outlining expectations, responsibilities, and any future rent arrangement.

If you have a spare room, guest house, RV, boat, or any safe place where we could stay—even temporarily—it would mean more than I can put into words. We aren't looking for charity. We're simply asking for an opportunity to work hard, earn our keep, and get through one of the most difficult chapters of our lives with our dignity intact.
