Hello! My name is Christopher, and I'm a 44-year-old transfer student relocating from Florida to New York City to complete my bachelor's degree in Cultural Anthropology at Queens College.
I currently work as an Environmental Services Floor Technician at AdventHealth Hospital Daytona Beach, where I've been employed for the past several years. Before that, I lived in Bogotá, Colombia, teaching English as a Foreign Language, and I've also worked in management and language education.
Academically, I recently graduated from Daytona State College with a 4.0 GPA and an Associate of Arts degree. I'm a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, Alpha Mu Gamma Foreign Language Honor Society, have earned multiple President's List recognitions, and was awarded a national scholarship from the Sons of Italy Foundation. I'm passionate about cultural anthropology, documentary film, languages, travel, and learning about people from different backgrounds.
Outside of school, I enjoy photography, museums, music, reading, exploring neighborhoods, language exchange, writing, and discovering the unique cultures that make New York City such an incredible place to live.
As a roommate, I'm mature, respectful, clean, quiet, and responsible. I'm moving to New York to focus on my education and am looking for a comfortable, peaceful home with considerate people. I value open communication, mutual respect, and keeping shared spaces tidy.
I'm looking for a room to rent, preferably near Queens College with access to subway and bus lines. My budget is around $900/month. I am looking for a rental of at least one semester, 4-6 months. If I can find a nice place, I would stay long-term.
I'm excited to begin this new chapter and look forward to meeting great roommates along the way!
