California Native Returning Home

Hi, I'm Jackson. I'm 36, work in contract administration for a global company, and am planning my return to Orange County after several years in the Charlotte area.

Although I spent much of my life in the Carolinas, I've lived all over the country. I was born in Monterey, California, later lived in San Diego and West Hollywood, and spent five years in the Chicago area after college. Chicago remains one of my favorite cities, and I still try to visit regularly, but California has always felt the most like home.

Outside of work, I'm a bit of an old soul. My interests range from classic films, Alfred Hitchcock, and film noir to Bravo reality shows, true crime documentaries, pop culture rabbit holes, and music from just about every decade. My playlists can jump from Dusty Springfield to Duran Duran to Peter Gabriel without much warning.

In my thirties, I've become much more focused on health and wellness. I'm an avid walker and enjoy exploring neighborhoods, finding local coffee shops, spending time outdoors, and staying active. I'm not a big drinker these days, though I enjoy the occasional social drink. I'm generally more 420-friendly than cocktail-focused.

I'm extremely clean, organized, and respectful of shared spaces. Several Airbnb hosts have commented that I'm one of the neatest guests they've ever had, which may be the least glamorous but most useful review I've received. I've lived alone for most of the post-COVID years, but I've also had several successful roommate situations in the past. I'm easygoing, adaptable, and happy to socialize when it feels natural, while also respecting everyone's need for personal space.

My job offers flexibility, so I'll likely split my time between working from home, company offices in the area, coffee shops, and exploring neighborhoods as I get re-established in Southern California. I also have friends in the area, so I'm not arriving completely on my own.

Ultimately, I'm looking for a furnished room, guest house, casita, ADU, or compatible roommate situation that's clean, comfortable, and low drama. Good communication, mutual respect, and a reasonably tidy kitchen go a long way with me.
