Professional (&fun) Brooklynite looking for share

Clean, self-sufficient, respectful, and friendly creative professional workaholic looking for chill, like-minded roommate/share.

Hi, I’m Ren, 43, he/him, and I work both in a product design/IP consultancy (ortheegg. com), as GM/ lead (have for almost a decade) and on a newco (Familismo. com which I started when in Mexico- see below) so I’m a perfect low-impact roommate since if I’m not working or working out or biking, I’m reading in bed/listening to music on headphones on my way to sleep.

Weekends, I’m often away or out (dinners, concerts, movies with friends). Not to say I’m not “social, friendly, “fun”, just my living space is more of a rest stop given my current work schedule.
But, having had an in-home partner for 15 years, I am very well domesticated aka:

• Cleanliness: My personal space is zen-like, organized, and clean, any common area use (BR, LR), I like to leave zero trace of having been there. Like a ninja. Any common chores go on my checklist & done like clockwork.
• Schedule: up at 6, out the door by 6:30, gym/meditation, in the office by 8:45, out around 7:30 pm, in bedroom by 9:30, repeat.
• Social Vibe: I’m a fan of a peaceful, restful home space vs. frat house. Great to share an occasional chat, coffee, or TV show, but I fully respect personal downtime and private space. Weekends I typically socialize OOH, so while not a Debbie Downer, just cut and dry with my habitats/environments.
• Guests: Occasional visiting friends or partners are totally fine with a heads-up, but I’m not looking for a shared crash pad (I’m laissez-faire as far as “you doing you”, I’m in work/progress -not dating mode- right now, personally).

Have been living (and working) mostly down “South” (Mexico- GDL&CDMX) for the last 2 years while waiting on the sale of my place (Q1 ’27) here in Brooklyn- where I’ve lived for half my life/2 decades!
While Airbnb’ing in a new neighborhood in Mexico every 2 months was a blast, it's far less adventurous (or fiscally responsible) in NYC; thus, this "advertisement for me” as a roomie.
Have a montage of rental reviews on my profile (happy to share direct), and even given the last 2 years of wanderlust, I’ve a) worked since I was 14 and b) been fiscally responsible (have v. good credit and some financial padding), and as this will certainly be a savings vs. Airbnb, so happy to Zelle/wire rent before the end of the month so there’s zero stress.

What I’m Looking For:
An easy-to-talk-to roommate who pays rent and utilities on time, respects quiet hours on weeknights, and communicates openly if any issues come up.
Pet-friendly is a plus (my J. Russell Marley is with my ex, but I love animals, companion or otherwise, and ran/owned a “PetTech” co for 7 years- Frolick.)

Personal flavor: big into travel adventure (scubaing off La Paz, motorcycling all over the Yucatan, offshore fishing Florida/Mexico are literal examples from the last year). I like reading (noir, sci-fi, urban fantasy to classics), and writing (didja know my first job out of college was culture-tech journalism in SF- e. g. BongBoing & Wired). Love games (scrabble to chess to poker). Improv. Live music (from classical- mostly Beethoven and Mozart, to jazz, heavily latin jazz, to funk, and some metal), and in my 20’s, I played with a couple of bands in the Bay Area. Love to cook for friends and family (when I get the chance), fave cusines are Thai, Japanese, Vietnamese (guess I could just say “Asian”) and French and Mexican. Ok, this isn’t a dating profile, so that’s enough.
