I am a twenty-seven-year-old PhD candidate coming to New York for a research fellowship. I am looking for: a private room in a shared space with a kitchen and easy enough access to the subway (ideally furnished but definitely with an already functioning kitchen). I will be working in Mahattan during the workday and, am also planning to head back to Massachusetts semi-regularly (though I may stay in NYC for some weekends). I am mostly looking for a quiet space where I can cook and spend some free time.

I would prefer a place that allows pets because I also have a sweet, blind cat named Billy who may come to NYC for the few weeks when his regular caretaker is not home in the winter and spring. I can make other arrangements if a place is not pet friendly but checks a lot of other boxes.
