Last Thanksgiving

Hi, I am looking for a first floor room, studio, ADU, or converted or specially built garage set up for living in South Orange County, preferably, or nearby areas, available as soon as possible.

I am a 57 year old female, quiet, respectful, and very clean. I am a recipient of SSI and have stable monthly income. I am currently in a temporary situation and need something safe and stable right away.

I am looking for a private space with a locking door and a window. I am not looking for a basement room. A standard sized room is perfectly fine, or larger if available. First floor or easy access is very important due to a mobility issue, as I use a cane at times. Access to a kitchen, refrigerator, and microwave is important for my medical needs. A furnished space would be ideal since my belongings are in storage.

A private or shared bathroom is fine, preferably shared with another woman.

I do have a small, elderly cat who is my emotional support animal. She is 20 years old, very quiet, litter box trained, and stays in my room. She is shy and will not interact with other pets.

My budget is up to $900 per month. If move in is immediate, I can provide $500 now and then $900 on the first of the month. I am willing to work out a deposit arrangement.

I do not smoke, drink, or use drugs, and I am not looking for anything inappropriate. I am not looking for a shared room, bed share, or anything similar.

I really value a peaceful and quiet atmosphere. I am very quiet, keep to myself, and respect others’ space and privacy.

I lived in the same home for over 20 years where I cared for my mother for 15 years. She is now elderly and in board and care. I also raised my daughter, so I am responsible and stable. At this point, I am simply trying to get back into a place of my own.

I am also currently working with several housing navigation programs that are assisting me in securing permanent affordable housing through SSI programs.
