Hi, I'm Elena.
I'm seeking a room to rent in a home for a total under $900, which is more than half my income. You might call me a "public servant," a SpEd assistant in a public school, and we're not paid well, but I love how fulfilling my job is and I'm just not willing to dilute my energy across two jobs. It wouldn't be fair to the students.
I usually come home after work and de-stress by knitting to quiet podcasts, reading, or some other form of crafting. I like to cook large, simple meals, and I'm willing to share my cookware with some heads-up. Most Sundays I'm out until the late afternoon because I assist at Mass and often with a girl scout kind of group. I practice singing Gregorian chant, but it's inherently a quiet style of music, so I don't believe I'll bother anyone!
I haven't rented outside of family for about 10 years, so I'm anxious to make it work by drawing up chore charts for myself, asking for your feedback on my cleaning, and generally keeping good, clear communication between us. I'd like to live with someone who will warn me before bringing guests over and who communicates about kitchen and bathroom things explicitly, before a conflict arises! My job involves a lot of deescalation, but I'm fairly oblivious at times, so I'll ask for your patience as I navigate becoming a good roommate/renter.
