Room Wanted for Quiet, Clean, Responsible Teacher
Hi! My name is Mackenzie, and I’m originally from Upstate New York. I recently accepted a position as a high school Social Studies teacher at a public high school in Brooklyn, and I’m looking for a room to rent as I make the transition to NYC.
I’m hoping to move sometime in late August, with an absolute latest move-in date of September 6. Ideally, I’m looking for a short-term rental for September and October, with the possibility of extending through December or even longer if it’s a great fit for everyone.
A little about me:
* I’m extremely clean and genuinely enjoy cleaning and keeping shared spaces tidy. I believe in leaving common areas cleaner than I found them.
* I’m a very quiet and respectful roommate. During the school year, teaching takes a lot of energy, so most evenings I either head to bed early or spend my time quietly in my room preparing lessons for the next day.
* I rarely cook (honestly, I don’t enjoy it!). I usually cook once a week on the weekend, unless something unavoidable comes up, so I won’t be taking over the kitchen or creating a lot of dishes.
* While I tend to keep to myself, I’m friendly and happy to chat or hang out occasionally. I enjoy having a warm, respectful living environment where everyone gets along while also respecting each other’s space.
I’m hoping to find a place with a reasonable commute to my school in Brooklyn, though I’m open to other neighborhoods if it seems like the right fit.
