Rental Scam, Female from out of state needs Help

My name is Teresa, and I hope this message finds you in good spirits. I'm reaching out to share my current challenges and to seek your kind assistance during this tough time in my life. Recently, I took a brave step to relocate from another state to Colorado Springs for a new job, starting a fresh chapter after leaving an abusive relationship. I want to emphasize that my former fiancé is not aware of my new location, and I’m eager to find safety and stability here.

Before making the long journey, I secured what I thought was a rental home; unfortunately, I discovered that I had fallen victim to a rental scam rent, Deposit and they cleared out my checking account upon my arrival. With my job not set to begin until March 9, 2026, I find myself in a precarious situation with limited resources. In just a few days, I may have to face the possibility of sleeping in my car in a city that feels completely unfamiliar and isolating.

I would be incredibly grateful for any assistance you might offer in helping me find a safe place to stay until I receive my first paycheck. In exchange for accommodation, I would gladly contribute by helping around the house in various ways, including cooking, cleaning, or yard work. It’s important for me to clarify that I am not looking to enter into any arrangement that requires a sexual relationship.

Once I receive my first paycheck, I would love to explore the possibility of a more permanent housing arrangement, like renting a room.

To provide you with some insight about me, I live alone and have my own vehicle. My professional background includes working as a call center manager and trainer in the financial sector on the North side of Springs (Power area), and I’m also planning to look for a part-time job on weekends to help make ends meet.

Ideally, I am seeking a fully furnished room, preferably a basement or private room with an attached bathroom, along with a parking space for my Honda. I want to assure you that I do not drink, smoke, or do drugs, and I value having a clean environment where I’ll always ensure to tidy up after myself.
