Hello!

Sit down, grab a cup of coffee and let me tell you my whole story so you can make an educated decision and not have to wait for credit checks and what have you...

I'm Steve C. and I am a recovering compulsive gambler who trashed his life over the past 4-5 years post-divorce and hit true rock bottom in March 2025. It's been a rough and humbling ride the past months in recovery, living with a family member who took me in when I was evicted from apartment for non payment. I lost it all to my addiction... Retirement, 401k, career, reputation, the works and am actively rebuilding my life from ground up. On the 28th I will celebrate one year of sobriety/abstinence.

Ideally, I need a place from no earlier than 4/1 and no later than 5/1 through at least the end of the summer while I save up the upfront funds to land my own place. I'd guess at least until end of September and likely another month or two after that.

If you are still reading, thanks! I am 59 year old professional male, finally and gratefully employed after an exhausting 6+ mo search as a previous employer has recruited me to rejoin them. I don't smoke cigarettes, am Cannabis friendly and haven't drank since 2006 but don't mind folks who do! I have 3 kids and two grandkids spread around northwest Jersey so being relatively close to them is of course a concern so I am trying to stay no further south than the Trenton/I-195 corridor.

I work on-the-road representing a vendor to automobile dealerships, so my days (and some overnights) are spent all over the State and I tend to keep to myself otherwise and would very rarely have a visitor. When not on the road, I do work from home so if the room comes furnished I hope for a desk, or room to bring my own. If unfurnished I do currently have my entire life in a storage unit and can provide my own.

So that's the story of me! If my truth hasn't scared you off by now, you have my utmost gratitude... I am clean and tidy, relatively quiet and very introverted and introspective at this moment in my life :)
