I'm a PhD student in linguistics at Rutgers University, New Brunswick, NJ. Yes, I commute there from Brooklyn a few days a week! But I love the long commute as I get to do a lot of reading on the train.
I'm interested in literature, history/politics, hiking, and art. I'm on the left of the political spectrum and hope you are progressive too so that we will get along well as roommates and have meaningful conversations now and then. I lead a sustainable lifestyle with a conscious effort to leave a low footprint. You will find me a respectful and self-aware roommate, who cleans up after himself.
I've lived in Crown Heights since September 2025. I want to move out because I want a somewhat larger room and a somewhat tidier roommate!
My Graduate Fellowship is guaranteed by the university, and I won’t have any problem in paying the rent. You can also check my authenticity by visiting the Rutgers linguistics department website.
I'm kind of new to the US; came here in September 2024 for my PhD. I'm originally from southern India and lived in Melbourne (Australia) for about 15 years. So in my free time I like to explore NYC and the US in general and like going on short trips and hikes. I worked in IT for many years and am very glad to be back in school!
