Room for a newly appointed researcher at UW?

Hello!

I’m a 58-year-old newly appointed senior researcher at the Department of Botany, UW-Madison. I arrived in Madison in mid-January and have been living in temporary accommodation, but I will need to move soon.

I’m looking for a furnished room in a flat or house share with a move-in date of June 1, though I’m open to a later move-in if tied to a student or other moving-out situation.

I’m an easygoing, quiet, and fastidiously tidy person—spending most of my time at the lab or outdoors. I enjoy reading, walking, and keeping my space clean. A non-smoking environment is essential, as is a peaceful atmosphere to recharge.

Proximity to the C bus line is important, as I don’t have a car. My preferred location is near Monona Lake (don’t we all?), particularly in the Shenk/Atwood or Yahara neighborhood.

With extensive flat-share experience from my nomadic lifestyle, I understand the importance of mutual respect and maintaining a calm, quiet living space. If you have a space that fits this, I’d love to hear from you. Thank you!
