I am a 53 y. o. (I feel like 35), married cis female (she/her), with no kids, and my primary dwelling is in CT (06320) where my husband and step child reside full-time.

I'm also a retired and disabled Navy veteran but active and mobile without physical limitations and I don't require special accommodations.

I pay my rent early because I get a VA (Veterans Affairs) guaranteed disability income before the first of the month. I'm conservative with my water usage and electricity bcuz I'm thrifty.

I am looking for a private room (with a lock) within an hour from Lehman College in the Bronx for part-time (Mon - Thu) occupancy for myself and my quiet and chill dog while I'm taking classes. I'm an overall chill lady looking for a chill space to study.

I'll be pursuing a customized degree using Lehman College adult degree program. My classes may be in the morning, afternoon, or evening.

I've had roommates in the recent past (2012 - 2022) and two of them have become my friends who I view as family and stay in touch with and visit when I can (San Diego & Tucson).

I respect my roommates, their privacy, space, property, guests, boundaries, rules, responsibilities (chores), views, and opinions. I mind my own business and I clean up after myself.

I am super quiet. If I want to listen to music, I put my headphones on or listen in my car on my commute or while running errands. It goes without saying that I am NOT a partier. I value peace and quiet. I won't have guests over bcuz I'd rather visit family and friends outside the house.

My dog, Peach, is also super quiet and mellow. She's a labrador / terrier mix, 11 years old, medium sized at about 50 lbs, and house trained. She's the happiest dog I know! I won't allow her to roam the house unsupervised. Not that she's destructive or anything like that. I just don't want her in your way. She is content to hang out in my room and sleep when I'm not there. She RARELY barks and when she does (stranger at the door or in the house), I put a stop to it immediately with a quick "shhh". She's lived with other dogs and cats and I enjoy taking her out on walks to green spaces. If I'm going to be away from the house for more than 6 hours, then I'll take her to doggy daycare. I may, at times, leave her with my husband in CT.

I am an LGBTQIA ally bcuz I have friends and family that identify as such and I myself am Bi.
