Looking for short-term room in Brooklyn/Manhattan

I’m a professional environmental consultant working in Brooklyn, with a Masters in Ecology and Conservation. I’ve lived in Queens my entire life and I’m currently looking for an apartment for February to the end of the year - potentially a 1 year lease? - before I leave NY to start my PhD. I'd like a private room in an apartment within a ~15-20 minute walking distance of the subway, preferably the G, L, or A but other subway lines will work fine. I'm looking at the Williamsburg area of Brooklyn, and also in Manhattan south of Central Park.

I don’t smoke, I’m a very clean person, and I enjoy spending time outdoors (when I can!) I'm eager to be part of an apartment where people keep things clean and tidy in shared spaces, and I don't mind pets. I work a hybrid schedule so there are some days I will be working from home. As a lifelong New Yorker, I know how to respect others' personal space, and I love a good movie night. Happy to share some cool info about my career in conservation!
