Looking for a room in Denver (all areas) or within reasonable limits of public transportation.
Prefer to have a balcony, patio or yard, because I smoke and I always sit outdoors ( when weather permits). I am currently living in a motel and I do not like to sit on the sidewalk.
I am currently not working. I am waiting on unemployment to go through. I'm originally from Indiana and unfortunately was abandoned by my boss here in Grand Junction. That's a good story if you have time for it.
It now appears that I am not going to be able to return home, and I am currently looking for work in Denver. I have worked for 30 years and this is the first time I was ever let go due to attendance. I actually won $300 in gift cards due to perfect attendance in 2020, and was one of two for our entire corporation.
I was diagnosed in July with scleroderma after I lost close to 65 lb without trying. Unfortunately, my Company required the paperwork for FMLA and loa to be filled out by the specialist. As you might suspect, they are short staffed due to COVID and they did not have any new patient appointments until November. So of course my request for FMLA and LOA timed out, I was having a hard time going to work while I was crapping out both ends. I was actually in the hospital with severe belly pain when my boss called and told me not to come back.
I'm feeling much better now that I am back on my "medicine", I do have quite a bit of energy and my attitude is pretty positive comparatively speaking. After all, I'm going to have that rock hard body that I always wanted. That's what I used to tell my mom, because she died of the same disease in 2013 at the age of 59.
I'm only 46 years old, I did not expect to be at this stage of my life, I definitely did not feel like making out my will, and I had to ask the doctor what palliative care was.
