Respectful PhD Student looking for a room

My name is Charlie. I am 30 years old. I am English-American and doing a PhD in Geography at CUNY focusing on how communities are adapting to climate change in the Caribbean and NYC.

I am looking for a place north of prospect park in the Clinton Hill, Prospect Heights, and Crown Heights areas.

I love to travel and was lucky enough to live in London for a few years before moving to New York City in 2021. I’ve also been to Turkey, Italy, Malawi, and Zambia which are among a few of my favorite places I’ve been.

As a roommate, I am fairly easy going. I tend to leave the apartment when I go have a drink and/or socialize, and mainly like to have an apt where I can relax and recharge when working (which mainly involves reading and writing). I feel I am very respectful of other people and their desire to create a comfortable and cozy home to come back to or enjoy while working. I may not always keep my bedroom the cleanest due to heavy workloads, but like to keep shared spaces like kitchen and bathroom tidy.

I enjoy meeting with friends for a drink, hanging out in parks on nice days, cooking, playing soccer, surfing (although not much recently), and watching British comedy shows and sports like soccer and rugby. Also, I like Harry Potter, Anthony Bourdain Parts Unknown, The Mandalorian, and Ted Lasso. I love music (maybe a weird thing to say) because who doesn’t? Some of favorite artists are Loyle Carner, Dave, Joy Division, Bob Marley, The Verve, Cleo Sol, SAULT, The Blaze, and Bon Entendeur.

Ideal roommates would enjoy socializing, but also would be fine with giving each other our own spaces when needed. Sometimes I like to just chill in my room and other times definitely down chat while cooking or drinking coffee/tea. It'd be nice to live with someone who enjoys going to get a beer or drinking some wine after a long day.
