Eclectic, Artistic, Diplomatic, Cleanly

Dear Prospective Roommate/Friend,

I recently moved Richmond, VA, my hometown, where I was spending the past ten years while strengthening my bonds with my brothers and my father, especially my father who has been challenged with type 1 diabetes and depression. Before this, I was living in NYC for five years following one of my dreams to live there and develop into an adept fiction writer. I also lived in NYC to learn the esoteric craft of classic cocktail barkeeping. In Richmond, I was running successful craft cocktail bar programs that have received a bit of national attention. I have seventeen years of high-end bar and restaurant experience to rely upon when I need a job.
With the pandemic closing my bar/club for the past year and two months, I decided it was time to change my profession, so I started college again this Jan. I’ve been dreaming of living in L. A. for some time, as I write screenplays as well and study film direction in my free time too. I figured I could roll my school future and L. A. dream together, so I am now enrolled at Pasadena City College in Aug. in their Mandarin Chinese program. I plan to transfer to UCLA or elsewhere after PCC to finish Mandarin studies. I love languages, and they stick with me pretty well, so I figure the wide array of job options and opportunities to travel and meet people with a Mandarin degree will suit my eclecticism.
I’m a mature forty years young man who loves meditation and spiritual practices. I really don’t imbibe alcohol much anymore, only socially, and I do no drugs at all, including no cigarettes. I prefer to hike and bike and play tennis or basketball if my ankles can handle it that day. I read very much. I eat very healthy and vegetarian or vegan. I have very good credit, a perfect driving record, and good references.
