Digital Nomad/Actress Seeking Private Room/Bath

Hi, I’m Chrystel. I’ve been living in St. Augustine, Florida since October 2023, and I am now ready to move on to Atlanta, GA. I’m flexible on my move date, but ideally I’d like to move in between June 1 – June 17, 2024. I’m originally from Los Angeles but have been a nomadic spirit and gypsy soul for the past 8 years or so. I have a full-time job that pays the bills (HR Manager) and I am also an actress. I am fortunate that my day job is remote and allows me to make my own hours, which allows me to pursue my acting career. Like many native Californians I fled LA in 2021. One day I may go back, but for now I’ve decided to make the Hollywood of the East, aka Atlanta, my primary base for the foreseeable future.

I am looking for a room to rent/roommate to save money as I plan to buy a property in Atlanta in the next 6-12 months. I don’t want to waste money signing a lease and renting a place on my own and furnishing it. Therefore, I thought it would be best to find a room to rent. Ideally, a furnished room would be best. I’ve been renting furnished houses for the past few years as I sold all my furniture when I started traveling a few of years ago.

As I do work from home when I am not on set or traveling, I do need a medium to large room with a desk (if the room comes furnished). I also need a private bathroom as I don’t share bathrooms. Fast, reliable internet is also a requirement due the fact I work from home, plus I need to film self-tape auditions and send them to casting. I do have a car so will need a parking space. I don’t smoke and can’t live with smokers. I hate the smell of cigarettes and don’t want to be around it. I don’t do drugs and don’t want to live with anyone that uses drugs. Not judging and to each their own, it’s just not my jam. I rarely drink. If I do, it is one beer or white claw 1-2x per month. I don’t care if you drink as long as you aren’t an alcoholic. I don’t have any pets as my sweet pitbull mix died 2 years ago. I don’t plan to get another dog until I buy my house. I love dogs, but unfortunately I am allergic to cats (though I think they are the sweetest).

What do you get from me? A professional that can easily pay her bills. Someone that doesn’t need a roommate, but is choosing to seek one out temporarily to prepare for the purchase of a house. Meaning I am not desperate and will not lie or say I am an ideal match or fit if I am not. Though this will only be a temporary living situation, home is my sanctuary and I need to feel comfortable and relaxed in it, as I would assume you do as well. A clean freak. I am a 9.5/10 when it comes to cleanliness. The only reason I don’t say 10/10 is I don’t believe in perfection. If you aren’t at least a 9/10 we won’t be a good match. How you keep your personal bedroom/bathroom is your business as long as it doesn’t attract bugs or emit smells, but when it comes to the shared spaces I keep them clean. I am a navy veteran. Everything has a home. I don’t like clutter or gear adrift. Also, if you haven’t noticed I am direct and believe in open communication. I expect the same of others. I am too old and life is too short to deal with passive aggressiveness or to play guessing games. Though I am direct; I am professional, polite, considerate, and courteous.

My budget is flexible as finding the right fit is most important, but ideally I’d like to keep my half to $1000 per month or less (including utilities), but I can afford more if the fit is right. I’ve only been to Atlanta once so far to shoot a commercial, but in my research thus far and advice from others I’m thinking of the areas and suburbs to the north/northeast/east of downtown Atlanta. I’m flexible on location, but nothing south of midtown. I am looking to stay to the areas and suburbs north of midtown. I will need to meet you and see the place in person. And verify you are the owner/person on the lease before money exchanges hands. And of course I am happy to submit to a background check as well.
