British Professional Female Seeking a Quiet Room

I am a 61 year old British/American professional female looking for a room. I am British-born and after moving to New York with my children 20 years ago, I have recently naturalized. I am available to move August 1st onwards and have a budget of $1000 per month. I would ideally like to share with one other person between 30 and 75 years old, but am flexible for the right person or persons/share.

I am clean, organised and respectful of other people's space and belongings and would like the same from my potential roommate. I am a quiet, caring, empathetic, independent person— I'm happy to keep to myself and do my own thing, but I also enjoy having a friendly conversation over a cup of tea or a glass of wine. My job is full-time but I am currently working from home out of my room. This may change back to a mixed working from home/in the office schedule sometime soon.

My ideal roommate would be a professional or retired non-smoker, someone who does not bring the party home, doesn't vacuum at midnight, or get drunk or do drugs; someone clean, responsible, and personable.

I am looking for a clean, comfortable, medium-sized room with closet space and subway & laundry nearby. Shared kitchen and bathroom and preferably living room too. Internet service is vital for my job.

I love animals and have always lived with them myself, so I don't mind living with cats or dogs.
