Lovely bright room in cosy duplex with deck
The room is in a spacious duplex apartment sharing with one other roommate. There is a ton of natural light throughout the apartment and we have lots of plants! We also have a roof deck with a view of the Manhattan Skyline (which you can see from my bedroom too).
There is a queen size bed, and you'll have a closet and chest of drawers for your belongings. The bedroom has high ceilings and a huge window taking up one whole wall.
The apartment has central air and heat controlled by our own thermostat. We have good Wi-Fi. There is also a washer and dryer for your clothing.
The bathroom has a bathtub as well as shower, and the kitchen has nice modern appliances.
We are three blocks from the Graham L train, or a 7 min walk from the Metropolitan Ave G train.
The house is non-smoking, and we have a nice family next door so we don't have late, loud parties as a rule. The neighborhood has lots of great walking-distance bars, restaurants and music venues. Graham Avenue has good bakeries, coffee shops, boutiques for shopping, and a big supermarket, and we are two L train stops or a 15min walk from the Bedford Avenue shopping area. We are also just a few blocks away from McCarren Park which has a farmers market every Saturday year round.
We have a cleaner that will come to clean the common areas in the apartment every two weeks.
Because of building regulations we have a one month minimum sublet rule, so: please only contact me if you'd like a one month sublet minimum or full-term sublet.
*In the photos you might notice a tortoise in the bedroom window. His name is Frank and while he loves meeting new people, he won't be in the apartment when the room is being sublet. He is going out of town to stay with some other tortoise friends.
ABOUT THIS LISTER
I work in music management and live show production and will be away on tour for a few months. My roommate is a sculptor who exhibits internationally so also travels quite a bit for work. We both have a British connection since we both lived in London for a long time. We enjoy going out in our neighborhood to listen to live music, check out the new bars and restaurants or just relax at home and catch up over a cup of tea or a glass of wine.
We're both in our mid-thirties and we keep a pretty tidy, chill, and adult apartment. We're both friendly and work from home a lot, so we have developed a good rapport between quiet work time and hanging out time.
Our apartment is decorated with treasures collected from our travels including textiles from Peru, Brazil and Morocco, ceramics and a few artworks by friends.
RENTAL REQUIREMENTS
In order for you to move in we'll be signing a lease agreement that I'll send for your review in advance, and you can transfer me the rent via Venmo or Paypal. I'll also take a security deposit of $1,000 that I'll return once your sublet period is over, and I've had a chance to make sure you haven't damaged anything in a way that will cause me an expense for replacement or repair.
