Great Apartment in Sunnyside!

A large bedroom (fits full sized bed, large dresser, table/desk and chair) with full closet available for rent. The available bedroom is not furnished, but the rest of the apartment (living room, kitchen, bathroom) IS fully furnished. I've lived in the apartment for a few years and with roommates having come and gone, I have accumulated everything we need for our shared space. All you need to bring is your bedroom furniture.

The apartment is located a two block walk from the 7 train on Queens Blvd. Sunnyside has the best of NYC - tree lined streets in a quiet neighborhood that is littered with great bars and restaurants. It is a short 15-minute ride to midtown.

The shared spaces include a large living room with big windows. There is a small table that expands to seat extra people, and folding chairs behind the couch. In addition, I have a large papasan chair, and a flat-screen TV. I went years without having cable. My current roommate insisted on it, but I would be happy to go without.

The rent is currently $875/month. It is rent-stabilized but may increase slightly with the new lease in February. Heat and water are included. Electric/cooking gas runs about $65/month, and the internet bill will depend on whether or not you want to have cable.

I am in my late 20's and a full-time school social worker that also runs a camp and works as an ASL interpreter. I am quiet and have very few visitors. I am clean and tidy, but not compulsively so. In my spare time I crochet, go running, read, and play and coach women's softball.

No smoking. No pets.

I am looking for someone who also has a full-time job and, of course, can pay the rent on time. Like all NYC apartment dwellers, I have had some interesting experiences with roommates in the past and am working very hard towards finding someone that is a good fit. I generally like to have roommates that I am comfortable with and get along with, but am not really looking for a brand new best friend. Basically, I am hoping to have a nice relationship with my roommate, but not be expected to entertain 24/7. If you are a professional who likes to go out but is over the party-every-night scene; if you like quiet, cozy neighborhoods nestled in NYC; if you enjoy the occasional roommate dinner but aren't looking for someone to hang out with every minute that you're home; this could be a great fit!
