Large 2-Windows Bedroom DUMBO Near Brooklyn Bridge
THE ROOM IS CURRENTLY RENTED OUT FOR JULY AND AUGUST. YOU CAN PUT IN A REQUEST FOR SEPTEMBER AND BEYOND.
Ideal for tourists who intend to spend a lot of time in Manhattan. Weekly rates beat hotel rates hands down. Plus kitchen and utensils to cook if you want to save money on breakfast and dinner. Free coffee for you to brew at the coffee counter in the kitchen. Most of my travel in Southeast Asia breakfast is included at the hotels. The same cannot be said for hotels in Manhattan. However even in Southeast Asia the charge for laundry can add up. I was in Hanoi in December 2023 and Saigon same month. I found laundry service a short walking distance from my hotels. Very affordable. When you stay at my spare room you have access to a washing machine. And there is an accordion dryer in your room to hang out your laundry.. When I was much younger I worked at a hotel near Central Park. Even then the rooms were expensive. Guests who ate at the hotel paid more for a glass of orange juice than they would if they bought it from the deli on the block.
Large bedroom with queen size bed. There are two windows. One faces east the other faces north. There are two bureaus to store clothes. One closet I use to store winter shirts during the summer. Can be used to hang up coats and other clothes. The room is carpeted. The TV in the room is not connected to cable but can pick up on air channels. In the morning the sunrays enter from the east. WiFi password on bedside table.
Located two blocks from the nearest subway. Brooklyn Bridge Park is a 12-minute walk. The area is located in Vinegar Hill/DUMBO. I'm a recent retired health care professional. During the years I've done a lot of domestic and foreign travel. By renting the room I hope to be able to still afford to travel. In the past I've rented to foreign students by word of mouth. They tend to be busy and industrious. I've also rented to tourists for short stays. So I'm also open to short stays. But not long term rentals more than 6 months but open to discussion. I don't smoke. There is a smoke and carbon monoxide detector right outside the bedroom door. It's very sensitive so if you smoke it will readily detect it and sound the loud, piercing alarm.
Couples are okay if traveling to NYC as short-term tourists on vacation.
Open to negotiations regarding rent and possible length of stay longer than six months. Like when I'm away traveling you can secure my USPS that way it doesn't stack up in my mailbox. Being that I live in an historical area I figured some tourists might prefer to stay one or two weeks. In that case the platform does not allow less than one month minimum so the charge would be $750/week minimum stay. For two weeks it would be $1150, for three weeks it's $1350. For 4 weeks $1500.
I grew up in this area and it has changed and become known for Instagram photos with tourists in the area every week. So this area has become expensive. At the same time living here you're 5 blocks from the walkway to the Brooklyn Bridge. The NYC Ferry docks at Old Fulton Street at Pier 1. You can also use it to get into Manhattan if you don't want to take the train.
I don't play loud music nor like loud music. If you hear loud music coming from the neighbor above please tap on the heating pipe to register your complaint. There are also several bus lines that come through here. I hope you enjoy your stay. Welcome to Brooklyn.
