Apartment Available in Boerum Hill/Cobble Hill
Lease takeover on brownstone lined street in Boerum Hill/Cobble Hill - April Move In
Searching for a roommate in their late twenties or early/mid thirties to take over two rooms in my apartment on Smith St. My current roommate uses one as her bedroom and the other as an office/for some shared things like a vacuum, etc.
Apartment details: The apartment has incredible natural light and windows in every room (even the bathroom), has in unit washer/dryer, a full sized dishwasher, and is very modern/updated (I think the bathroom feels like you’re in a fancy hotel). It’s one block from the Bergen St F/G, about 8 min from Hoyt A/C/G and Jay St MetroTech (NRWACF) and a 16 minute walk to the LIRR at Atlantic Station. The building is on Smith St (entrance is around the corner so it’s quieter, right next to a coffee shop) and two blocks from Court Street. The building itself is super clean, I never hear our neighbors inside the apartment, and we have a video monitor for the buzzer).
About the neighborhood: The neighborhood has a bunch of cute restaurants, bakeries, and everything you can imagine from Aesop and Warby Parker to Blink, FedEx, Cafe Kitsune, cute boutiques like Lolo and Salter House, it feels like the West Village but calmer and with more young families. The French bistro across the street has live jazz during the summer/fall and it truly feels like living in a movie.
About me: I’ve lived in New York for 2 and a half years and love it, especially living in such an idyllic neighborhood. I like to cook and bake, travel to new countries when I can and explore new restaurants and bakeries in NY. I have a 4lb, 4 year old toy poodle named Poppy who is very affectionate and playful. She’s really quiet and very used to living in the city (we lived in LA before this) and she loves walking around and smelling everything. I work in advertising, in office 4 days a week. I love making a home feel cozy and being intentional curating my home with different decor and kitchenware from my travels.
What I’m looking for: I’m looking for someone who wants their home to be a sanctuary, and someone who is calm, kind, and considerate. My preference is someone who is more into having friends over for dinner, going to a comedy show or jazz club, or having cozy days in reading, baking, watching a movie, etc. than clubbing until 4am each week.
Logistics: rent is $2300 for both rooms (assuming we have some shared things in one of the rooms like a vacuum) or $2100 for one room if we wanted to both share the extra space. There’s a $350 admin fee to update the lease with a new person. Rent can be paid digitally on a portal. There’s a one month security deposit, as well. In terms of furniture, the couch, rug, coffee table, and utensils are the only things that would need to be replaced - the tv, black dresser/console, olive tree, art (but happy to update this with new art), dining table and chairs, living room decor, kitchen decor, etc. are mine (and I’m happy to buy some stuff like a new rug)
