Room For Rent - Spacious Apt Near Columbia

We are a couple looking for a friendly roommate or couple to join us in West Harlem. The apartment is on West 122nd and Manhattan Ave, blocks away from Columbia University.

It is a 2 bedroom apartment - one room currently occupied by us (Dave and Alison), and we are looking for an individual or a couple for the second room.

Rent ($1200) includes water and heat. Electric, gas and internet not included but already set up. Preferably the person would be a student or young professional.

The building is a Co-op and applicants will need "board approval" (credit check, background check, etc). We have a great landlord who is very helpful when ever we need him.

Apartment is completely furnished - includes spacious, well-lit living room, bedrooms, one bathroom kitchen, and a home office (can also be used as a "guest room" if your friends are in town). 2nd floor in a walk up. All rooms come with large closets, and a place to store bikes. Unfortunately no pets, no smokers. Building is very safe and secure, video intercom and you will know most of your neighbors.

Very close to the 125th subway (A, B, C, D lines), good grocery store, laundry mat and many restaurants and bars. Also within walking distance of Central Park.

About us: Alison and Dave, we are in our mid-20s, American and Canadian. We both like to be active (yoga, gym, running), play boardgames, hang out with friends, and read. Dave is a guitarist and loves craft beer and scotch. Alison is super awesome, enjoys photography, museums and learning about cities. We are generally neat, tidy people and we both work full time in midtown (Urban Planning and Finance).

We are looking for someone or a couple that is neat and will be sociable weekends and evenings but who wont bring the party home. We are new to NYC and looking to meet new people and enjoy exploring the city. The perfect housemate would be someone who is looking for a home, not just a room to rent.
