Large 1BR in 2BR East Village Apartment-Sept. 1st!
Please read full description :)
My girlfriend and I are looking for a room mate for our 2BR apartment on e. 12th st, btw Ave A & B. I've been living in this apartment for 4 years with room mates, and am looking for someone to finish out the lease from Sept 1st 2014 through May 31st, 2015.
This would be the perfect term for a University student, for example.
The Room:
Room dimensions are: 10'6'' x 11' with a good sized closet & 2 windows. This room is unfurnished.
See image for details.
The Apartment:
Total apartment size is over 1000 sq ft, with most of that in the shared living room. The living room is huge by east village standards and we'd really like to newly decorate and lay out this space with lots of input from our new room mate.
We have a bathtub/shower full bathroom, newly renovated, as well as a full kitchen with plenty of dishes, etc
Since my girlfriend is Japanese-American, we do follow a strict no-shoe in the house policy.
The Building:
Water & Heat are included in rent. Additional utilities (split 3 ways) are Internet (time warner) and electric & gas bills. We do not use television (though we have one for nintendo 64) and don't intend to, so if you must have cable television, that cost will be yours to burden. The building is a typical east village building. 100 years old and shows it a bit. No doorman, but our super lives in the building and is attentive. Neighbors are all very nice. If you're not familiar with the East Village & alphabet city, let me just tell you it's the coolest neighborhood in this city, and I'd really rather not live anywhere else. I can field questions about the neighborhood if you ask.
About US:
We are Americans, I'm originally from Ohio, my girlfriend is from Brooklyn. We are both working professionals in our 20s. I work in the commercial photography industry as a freelancer, while my girlfriend works in the art gallery side of things. We don't have parties, or friends over often, but rather prefer to go out to see people at bars and events, and leave home for quiet. We cook often and shower mornings, and basically never argue.
About YOU:
We'd like someone who can pay the rent on time, every month like we do. That's most important. Almost as important, is we'd like someone who is at least as engaging and friendly as we are, who respects privacy for sure but also says hello sometimes at least. We don't have to be friends but we do have to live all together comfortably for a year. We are okay with students or professionals. But what we don't want is overnight house guests or parties. No drugs in the apartment, and you can be a smoker, but you'll have to go outside to the front of the building.
We are showing the apartment for the next 2 weeks, and will go with the first solid candidate, so please contact us with details about yourself and we'll set up an appointment.
Thanks!
