Looking for a roommate to share a renovated 2 Bedroom apartment in Bushwick.
6 min walk to Dekalb L or Jefferson L, 6-7 min walk to Central M or Knickerbocker M, B38 and B60 to downtown Brooklyn are 1 block away, 1 block away from Maria Hernandez Park. It's a great neighborhood full of families and young professionals.
THE ROOM: High 13 foot ceilings, 2 big windows, natural light. the large room is a little larger than 12x12 feet, enough for queen bed and some furniture pieces such as dresser/desk/shelves. one wall is exposed brick with a fake fireplace nook.
Note: There is a frosted privacy glass partition separating your room from the shared living space. You cannot see through the glass. It has a door that closes shut for privacy but the 10 foot tall partition stops a few feet from the 13-foot high ceilings so it is not a fully closed off room. Look at the photos and decide if it's a deal-breaker. I am paying a larger portion of the rent because of this. I'm super quiet so you would hardly notice me if you were in your room and I had to walk through the common area.
There is no closet but I have a rolling rack that you can borrow.
THE APT:3rd floor walk-up (we are on the top floor), central air conditioning unit in the kitchen (for the whole apt) We would share bathroom and common area with couch. I'm minimalist so hope you are too. You can help decorate and make things homey but only if you want to. I'm very tidy and want to live with a similarly tidy person. I would prefer someone who naturally cleans up and we would rotate bathroom cleaning. We can work out a cleaning schedule if necessary. Utilities (wifi/ natgrid/ coned) usually average $100/month total for each person, might be slightly more depending on air conditioning use or winter heat (bills are split 50/50). Newish laundromat across the street.
ABOUT YOU: prefer mid to late 20s- 30s, female. No live-in boyfriend/girlfriend please. Responsible, respectful, tidy/clean in shared areas. Pay rent and bills on time. Can stay several months or longterm. No cigarettes, no drugs, no smoking weed in the apt. We can discuss who comes into the apt because of covid. Might allow significant other or close family to visit but maybe not other people at this time. Prefer someone who is also taking covid precautions. I prefer someone who is not on a night schedule because I work a 9-6 so I go to bed around 10-12.
ABOUT ME: I'm 32, female, fashion designer. I'm very quiet and low key, non-partier. Because of covid, I am working my 9-6 job at home in my room for 2020 and maybe in the future, will go back to the office during the day.
1 month security+ first months rent. The security is refundable, please give at least 30 days notice if moving out.
