Large room in Victorian mansion, garden + ocean

I call this a mansion - it is a beautiful 5-bedroom 3-storey Victorian house. You'll only have 1 housemate who is generally only home in the evenings after work. You have access to 2 other rooms which are a shared studio/workspace and on the second floor next to your bedroom, and a small yoga/quiet room on the third floor.

Your bedroom is very spacious and comfortable with lots of sunlight, a double bed, built-in closet, and dressers. It's on the second floor, right next to the shared bathroom which has a bathtub. You'll have plenty of privacy since my bedroom is on the third floor, so I'll only be on the second floor for a shower or to occasionally use the shared studio space.

The ground floor has an open plan kitchen with a casual dining space, a dining room, and a living room, as well as a wrap-around deck with lots of seating, and a large yard/garden with fresh mint which you're welcome to. You have full access to the entire first floor. Bills are not included and come to around $200 a month. Smoking on the deck only please.

The house is located just a stone's throw from the first bus stop on City Island, in the Bronx, which is a less than 10 minute ride to Pelham Bay Park subway station. City Island is a small, sweet, and lively New England community with lots of great seafood restaurants, cute neighborhood bars, independent shops, and incredible access to the ocean, beaches, and big beautiful parks. We also have necessary conveniences like a deli, grocery store, and pizza place. It is really a haven from the big city, which is still easily accessible by the 6 train. City Island is also a short drive/bus ride from Pelham Bay and New Rochelle, both are nice urban areas with all the amenities and conveniences you need including big supermarkets and outlet stores you might miss in the city.

Your house mate is a professional woman in her mid 30s, working in costume for TV/film. When I'm working on a project I tend to work long hours and only spend nights (and if I'm lucky, weekends) at home. I'm very laid back, and enjoy having a chat on the porch over a drink or two, but I'm also happy to keep to myself if you prefer quiet time. I'm looking for a flatmate who is also a mature working professional, who has a sense of humor but who is respectful of privacy and the house, and tidy!

You should also be prepared to live with the best dog in the world, Didi. She is very calm, gentle, friendly, and loves cuddles and occasionally barking at passerbyers who she sees out the window. I'd welcome another dog into the home as long as he/she is socialized and easy going. I also have 2 outdoor cats who you might see lounging on the deck when it's sunny out.
