Private Room For Rent

Hi there! I’m looking for a roommate to share my nearly brand-new, single-family home built in mid-2017. The space is available starting June 1, 2025 with a flexible move-in anytime after that date

The home itself has 4 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms, is two stories, 2496 square feet, and has a fully fenced backyard and an attached garage. I live in the main bedroom on the first floor, and you will have a private, fully-furnished bedroom and will be sharing the upstairs bathroom with one other person. There are currently 2 people living in the entire home including myself.

About the Location:
The home is located in a friendly new community in Northeast Austin with a huge community pool. The neighborhood is mostly made up of young families, working professionals and retirees, so the community is tranquil and quiet but everyone is super friendly and helpful. The location of the neighborhood is also super convenient-it’s only a short 10-15 minute drive to the Domain/Q2 Stadium, UT Campus, Mueller and downtown Austin. We’re also very close to major tech employers including Samsung, Indeed, IBM, Facebook, Amazon.

About the room(s), rent and lease:
There are 3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom upstairs. 1 is occupied and either of the remaining two bedrooms are available. Both rooms have at least 1 window, a ceiling fan, and a bed included. The common areas are all completely furnished and we have a fair bit of kitchen supplies. We also have an additional mini fridge and a deep freezer in the garage.

Rent for one room and the private bathroom is $1500/month with utilities. The lease term is for 1 year with the option to renew on a yearly basis if everything goes well, though there is some flexibility if absolutely necessary.

You will be required to do a background and credit check (you’ll cover the nominal fee), and the first month’s rent and a deposit equal to one month’s rent will be due before move-in. The deposit is fully refundable upon move-out if there is no damage outside of normal wear and tear.

About Me:

I’m 29, female, and work as a Data Engineer for an EdTech company. I work from home and often take meetings from common areas. I’m generally pretty active and really love climbing (especially at Mesa Rim, which is super close to us), traveling, hiking, and reading. My roommate is 28 and works as a Data Scientist at Dell. She’s super creative and enjoys crafting, woodworking, and cooking in her free time.

We’re both respectful, responsible, friendly, organized, and very neat and clean. We enjoy coming home to a quiet, relaxing space, though we occasionally have friends or family over. I’m completely sober (alcohol and drugs), though I do smoke cigarettes occasionally. I don’t mind keeping alcohol in the home—just ask that it's stored either in your room or in a separate mini fridge. The same goes for meat, as I’m vegetarian.

We care about the environment and try to limit waste—especially food waste—and we compost and recycle regularly.

What I’m Looking For:
I’m looking for someone who shares the same values and respect for their living space as I do. Additionally, you’re someone who is looking for a quiet and peaceful space, are generally tidy and clean around the house, are proactive about sharing common area chores, don’t wear shoes in the house, and don’t throw large parties or have guests/partners over every day.

I’d prefer a roommate close to my age, somewhere around 25-35.

I have become friends with past roommates, but it’s by no means an expectation as long as we get along and are friendly with each other.

While I do love animals, I’d prefer not to have any animals in the house.
