Edgewater at Klein apartments, renewed my lease for the apartment for another 14 months. I have been living here since June 2023, and originally the second room was being used as an office but ultimately ended up moving my desk out of the room since then and it’s just been serving as storage since then. I was going to move to a smaller apartment but nothing was quite right so I opted to just renew. Figured getting a roommate would make the most financial sense so here we are.
Kind of person I’m looking for:
Five things I need from any possible roommate
1) you can consistently pay rent each month.
2) you have your own transportation.
3) you aren’t messy and will clean up after yourself and assist with regular cleaning
4) Not loud, or have a constant stream of people coming around.
5) You are willing to live with a chihuahua. Once yall meet and if you move in, he’s pretty quick to adapt to new people.
Room/Apartment Details:
As for the room, it’s 12’x10’7” with access directly to the bathroom. There is a door for that bathroom that connects to the common area. If you want to keep that door locked, you will hear no complaints from me.
As far as the common area goes, there’s in unit washer and dryer available to you anytime. There is a built in desk right next to the laundry. I’ve been using it for storage but that can be cleared out if you need the space.
Full kitchen available to use. If you like to cook or want to learn how, we should get along just fine.
The living room and dining areas aren’t used much personally, I typically spend most of my time in my bedroom or on the patio.
The apartment itself is non smoking feel free to smoke on the patio.
Rent/Complex Requirements:
Per the complex management, any person living in the apartment over 18 needs to be added as a leaseholder. This is mainly a formality on the part of the apartment complex, even though they would put you as a leaseholder if you chose to leave, you would just get taken off the lease. No harm no foul.
That said, you would need to fill out an application with the complex. There is a $60 application fee. They will do a background check, and will need proof of income. I would be doing the same thing myself, but them doing it is fine.
If you have a pet, you would need to pay any deposits to the complex along with the monthly pet rent. I believe it’s 25/month.
Parking is not assigned but they do require you register your car with an app. It’s free. They can be a little tow happy.
If you want a covered assigned spot (highly recommend), they are 45/month.
Garage units are 110/month last time I checked.
