Huge Room in House Share near Ferry,incl utils

The House

This is for a single unit that has two large rooms in our large house-share, walkable distance (10 min) to the free SI Ferry, a 30 minute commute to downtown Manhattan.

The House: Large and quiet, modern kitchen, dishwasher, large washer / dryer, artsy/eclectic decor, lots of plants and artwork, mirrors for light, hardwood floors. The house is big and has solid walls adding to the privacy. There are two shared bathrooms to share with the four other housemates. Three people share the upstairs, two share the downstairs bathroom. Rent includes utilities and fast WI-Fi.

The unit is on the first floor, and has two rooms. Windows view a wooded lot and porch, front garden, 20' rose bush. Large windows allow lots of light, thick old walls in the old house give privacy. People tend to use one room for an office and for lounging and the other as a bedroom, making it almost like a studio.

Outside: We have a beautiful, large wooden porch. The yard is a nice garden, mix of herbs, flowers, shrubs, evergreens. It's shaped like a triangle with woods on one side; bamboo, an oak and maple on another side, and the street in front. There is a fire pit on the side of the house made of stone, a large gas grill for BBQ, a patio in the back, and a slate tiled balcony next to your room, at the end of a book lined hallway. The view from the balcony in the summer is great, underneath branches from a giant maple tree, you can sit in private there and watch a sun set over the tops of the neighboring houses. There is a peach tree in the yard and a Japanese maple in the front and a 20 ft rose bush at the entrance.

Housemates: Diverse, professional, friendly and very respectful of the kitchen and shared areas. It is a very neat household. Sometimes our housemates are more chummy, other times people are pretty busy doing their thing, working, coming home to recharge and relax. It's not a party house by any means, no one smokes, no drugs, no heavy drinking.

The Neighborhood: We're a block or so behind Curtis High School at the end of a quiet dead end street next to a wooded lot. It's a safe, quiet, diverse neighborhood, full of working professionals and families. Grocery stores, restaurants, a farmers market, public library, and other services are walkable. The walk to the free SI Ferry is 10 minutes. Since the hub of public transport on SI is also the Ferry terminal, navigation of the island without a car is fairly easy if you choose. Otherwise, its an easy hop into town.

Parking: Street parking is plentiful and free, there is no alt./side street cleaning here.

Possible/let's discuss: We do have a driveway for parking that will fit one car. It would be an extra $25/month. Also, we will consider a small pet depending on the animal. We like pets, but it's always good to meet them first.
