Hello potential roommate! We have a room available now for one person. Sorry, no couples. Unfortunately, our former roommate moved back home across the country so we need to find someone equally amazing to take her place.
The home: The home is a 3 bedroom, 3.5 bathroom 1700+ square foot tri-level townhouse with a 2 car garage (both spots currently occupied) to be shared by 3 people. The home is equipped with HE washer and dryer, central air/heat, dishwasher, 2nd floor balcony, and home security. The home is largely furnished so any furniture you bring will need to fit in your bedroom.
The bedroom: The bedroom is located on the first floor (other bedrooms on third floor) and has its own private en suite bathroom.
The lease: The current lease term runs through August 31, 2020 so you?d need to be added to the lease for the last 8+ months. Rent is $1,000 plus 1/3 of utilities, which includes PG&E electric and gas, water, and Xfinity TV/internet/phone/home security, all tend to run about $130-$150 per person. Move-in deposit is $1,000.
The neighborhood: The home is located on a small loop in the quiet and safe Avenue One community located off of Raleigh Rd. near Cottle Rd in south San Jose. We also have access to the HOA clubhouse which features a large saltwater lap pool, hot tub, and fitness center that?s all about a 2 minute walk from the house. We are also walking distance to Safeway, Target, Starbucks, Chipotle, In-N-Out, etc. and also to both the Cottle and Santa Teresa VTA stops.
Parking: As previously stated, although we have a 2 car garage, both spots are occupied so you will need to find street parking. Within our HOA, parking is fairly abundant by San Jose standards.
Pets: We have 2 super adorable 18 week old kittens so if you have any severe pet allergies you may want to look elsewhere. But if you love kittens, this might be your new home because you?ll fall in love instantly. Sorry, we are not allowed any additional pets.
About us: We are two working professional 40 year-old gay males (friends but not a couple) who are clean, responsible, mature, financially stable, and do not work from home. Most nights after work, we usually play with the kittens and watch the Golden Girls.
About you: You are clean, responsible, mature, financially stable, and must be LGBTQ+ friendly. Considering we will be living together, it's important that we get along. We would like to become friends with the person who moves in with us, share meals, etc. but that?s not a requirement as long as everyone remains cordial. We?d also love someone who likes cats and has a good sense of humor. While we'd prefer someone older (mid-30s+), we are open to someone younger if they are able to display the appropriate maturity. We do have some requirements for anyone who wants to live with us:
- No cigarette smoking or drugs
- No couples or live-in significant others
- Limited overnight guests (advanced notice appreciated)
- Does not work from home full-time
If it sounds like you might be a good fit for us, please send us a message. We look forward to hearing from you!
