The spare room is a very large bedroom in a 3-bedroom apartment on the 22nd floor. The room fits a queen bed, dresser, desk, couch with sidetable, and TV stand with room to spare. The large south-facing window gets a great amount of natural light, and the room is on the the 22nd floor, so it provides an expansive city view. I am selling the queen bed and couch. You would be sharing the apartment with two friendly, respectful roommates in their late 20s (1 female, 1 male). You can expect a welcoming environment and considerate roommates who do their own thing and also like to chat if that's what you're looking for. We are looking for someone mature and considerate of the space who will pay rent on time.
The kitchen includes a dishwasher and plenty of cabinet and counter space as well as a breakfast bar. The closet in the hallway provides more storage space for clothes and other storage items. Additionally, there is a second linen closet in the unit, and storage space in the bathroom (under the sink and mirror). You would be sharing the bathroom with 1 other person (male). Please see video, my girlfriend is staying with me right now so there's some extra clutter in the common space outside my room and additional clothes in the closet.
The building, Normandie Court, has a 24/7 doorman, and a laundry room on the ground floor with a lot of washers and dryers - I have never had to wait for a machine. There is also a dry cleaners in the building. The building staff is generally friendly and very helpful. There is a parking garage in the building, as well as a package room open late into the evening.
One of the best things about the apartment is the location. It is located right at the 96th street Q stop and the M15 bus line as well as the 96 street crosstown bus. Key Food supermarket is a 4 minute walk away, and Whole Foods is about 7 minutes. There is also a 24hr Rite Aid in the building, and a Duane Reade and CVS a few blocks away. There's a Dunkin Donuts at one end of the block and an independent coffee place at the other, and a lot of restaurants and bars nearby that have takeout, delivery, and outdoor dining. It is just under 10 minutes-walk to Central Park and Carl Schurz Park along the East River. The neighborhood has a nice balance of things to do while not being too crowded or noisy, and it is a safe area.
There is a minimum income requirement of $72,000 or a guarantor with 80x the monthly rent. If this criteria can?t be met, savings of $50,000 or more can substitute.
