West Village room for rent in large, 3BR/2BA apt

Hi!

We rent a 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom apartment in the West Village (very spacious and well-priced by WeeVill standards), located on the second floor of a landmarked building, elevator- and laundry-equipped, with a courtyard in the back.

We are seeking a new roommate, starting July 1st (but later is also possible, at this point!), for a large bedroom (approximately 18’ x 8.5’) with a large window, as well as a large walk-in closet (approximately 4’ x 5’).

Your bathroom (normal-sized, with a shower, located just outside the bedroom) would be shared with one roommate (who is female). The other roommate - who has the other room and bathroom - is male.

ABOUT THE ROOMMATES

Roommate #1, Seth, works in law/diplomacy/academics, as well as in arts/music, and has lived in the apartment for nineteen (!) years.

Roommate #2, Anna (with whom the renter would share a bathroom), is a writer and freelance editor and sometimes-cold-water surfer, and has lived in the apartment for three years (replacing a roommate of 8 years – it's a place where people generally stick around).

Both Seth and Anna are in their 30s-40s, and are generally hard-working (both sometimes work from home, too), reasonably clean, and reasonably quiet (Seth does play a bunch of instruments, but not at night), and so both look to the apartment as a place to seek refuge from the craziness of the city.

RENTAL REQUIREMENTS

The rent is approximately $1,550 per month, plus utilities (and, if you choose, renter's insurance). A security deposit (equal to one-month's rent will also be required. (We say "approximately $1,550" only because the new lease is about to arrive, and we won't know until that's settled for sure, but it should be about that.) We may need our new roommate to join the lease and/or to sign a short roommate agreement.

The ideal roommate would be mature, responsible, respectful, tidy, and easy-going. Also, especially because Anna would share a bathroom with them, we'd want someone clean and considerate.
