1 spacious room, Hudson Heights

Ad ref# 102114377

1 spacious, bright, unfurnished room in 3 bedroom apartment; shared kitchen and bathroom.
Located in the Hudson Heights area, N. of 181st.

$975, plus 1 month deposit; utilities shared (usually $40-70 month).
The room is available for July 1st; the lease renews Sept. 1 2022; two current roommates are staying.
We’re looking for someone mature, who wants to stay longterm, aka make a home here.

Application through building management - need at least good credit, and proof of income.
Roommate agreement to be signed by all before move-in; shared expenses and cleaning to be worked out after move-in.

Shoes-off home.
Women preferred.
One cat lives here, so no other pets at this time.

The room is lovely, moldings and wood floors. It is western facing with amazing light and sunsets and a view with trees; a short walk from great food stores, a good wine/liquor store, a local pharmacy, laundromat, and plenty of restaurants to choose from; also some of the best free libraries anywhere! AND a brief walk to the Heather Garden in Fort Tryon Park.

Yes, perhaps it feels like upstate Manhattan, BUT: We are mere seconds from the A train entrance, and the train ride is 20 minutes to Columbus Circle. Also, this is a real neighborhood where you will get to know people as you spend time here.

Note: This is a 5-floor walk-up which is a challenge BUT, the perk is no one clomping around over our heads - worth every step, imo. Also, the room faces upper Fort Washington Avenue which is quiet at night, but can get traffic during the day.

This is basically a space for peace and quiet.
Best for folks who are chill after 10/11 and who don't want to bring home frequent guests.
OCD levels of clean wouldn't be bad. We are very clean and mindful here.
No ciggies; and moderate drinking okay.
COVID Conscious - housemates should be vaccinated and still wearing masks in public spaces/subways etc.
Must be up front about any crazy sicknesses or critters that might arise.
Scented products might need negotiations.

Note: We don't use the common space often, unless everyone is involved/okay, because sound/privacy issues due to the layout, but holiday/crafty gatherings are encouraged. We'll all be doing our own thing in our own spaces most of the time, but it would be good to share a glass or a cuppa now and then.

Me: Female, native New Yorker, extroverted-introvert, bookddragon, late 50s, friend to cat named Luna. Adjunct professor of NYC history and writing/tutor, occasional performer. Artsy, loves movies, non-commercial radio/podcasts, frequent walks in the nearby gardens.

Other roommate: Female, long-time New Yorker, introvert, late 30s, "owner" of cat named Luna. Works in physical therapy, reads books, does yoga, also goes for walks.

If you're interested, tell us a bit about yourself: what you do for income, a bit about your living habits/interests, what you hope for in a home, and maybe a pet peeve?
