Hi! I am looking to sublease my studio apartment in DC. Currently, the lease is set to end on May 2025, but if you end up liking it, you can definitely renew the lease but would most likely have to sign a new one without me as the current tenant.
About the Apartment: The studio is about 427 sq. ft. and contains an in-unit washer and dryer. All appliances are brand new because I was the first tenant to live in my unit since they built the place. The apartment is located in Market House DC if you want to look up more info and also look at location.
Amenities: Market House has several amenities that are open to all residents. -There is a gym on the penthouse level as well as a rooftop pool with grills and seating areas outside.
-They also have secure mailrooms where you must present a code in order to enter the mailroom to grab your packages (makes it super secure).
-All doors can be opened by a key fob including the elevators so it is very secure.
-There is someone sitting at the front desk 24/7 who refuse to let in anyone who is not a delivery person or a registered guest by a resident. I’ve never once felt unsafe living here by myself due to all of the security features.
-Conference rooms and individual study spaces with shared WiFi.
-Common area with pool tables, seating, couches, and flat screen tvs.
-Parking garage for an additional price.
-Pets allowed with dog parks and dog washing stations in the complex.
Location: You honestly cannot beat the location. It’s located in NoMa and is literally a three minute walk to the NoMa/Gallaudet University metro stop. Right by the metro stop is also a citybike station, so if you prefer to bike, that’s also an option. It is also about a five-ten minute walk to Union Market with lots of restaurants and cute shops. There are also a lot of cafes around the area. -Starbucks (1min walk) -Pluma (5min walk) -Blue Bottle (5min walk) -Trader Joe’s (5min walk) -Harris Teeter (10min walk) -La Colombe (2min walk) -Chopsmith (1min walk)
Rent: Currently, I am paying $1,954 a month for the place + $250 for parking. Again, parking is optional. You will need to pay a bit more on top of that for common area electricity, sewage, and water. But again, all of those combined usually amount to $40 at most per month. You will also need to pay for your own wifi. The apartment currently already has XFinity set up for $40/month.
You will need to go through your own screening process with the management office where they will check your income, credit score, and the usual.
