Private room in lovely vintage home

I am offering one bedroom in a quiet home. We'd have to share the only full bathroom but there is another half bath downstairs so thankfully 2 toilets :)

The kitchen has recently been remodeled - gas stove, microwave, quartz counter tops and all the pots and pans and dishes anyone could need. If you have little or nothing you won't be lacking anything here.

The bedroom has a reasonably large closet and right now contains a bed frame, side table and dresser. If you need furnishings you're set. If not we'll remove. You DO need your own mattress but we have the box spring if needed.

Cable and wifi are included, there aren't separate lines to the bedrooms but we have extenders for the wifi. If this turns out to be insufficient we can work on it. Washer and dryer are on site.

The house has central air and heating, a decent sized back yard with a new pergola and a much loved and used clothes line. There is a woodworking shop that is fully outfitted with tools.
This is a split level house, there are stairs to the front door, stairs to the upper floor where the bedrooms are and stairs down to the shop spaces and back yard. If you have mobility issues this could be a challenge.

We haven't put in much of a garden this year but there is great potential if you want to grow food.

We recycle, try to keep our water usage down, grow what food we can in our spare time, love vintage and try to support the environment. We don't use harsh chemicals, try to eat organic and vegetarian/vegan and will happily include you in cooking plans if that's your thing. If you want to do some light housework or yard chores outside of taking care of your space and cleaning up after yourself then we can talk about compensating you for your time with perhaps a small rent reduction.

Water, garbage and cable are included in the rent, as is some gas/electric.
We are less than a mile from highway 4 and the new Pittsburg BART station so its super easy to get to and from. I've walked from BART home before and it's a nice 20 minute stroll. There is bus service from the original Pittsburg station and that drops off 1/2 block from the house.
TELL ME WHO YOU ARE - We are quiet here as is the neighborhood most of the time. Big parties aren't encouraged but friends are welcome. I have animals; dogs, cats and a bunny. My dogs aren't really dog friendly but we have no problem with cats and possibly other small creatures. We like unusual, we like creative, don't be afraid to be yourself.

Move in date negotiable, first months rent, last months rent and $200 deposit required to move in. Please be ready to show proof of income. Students welcome but still need a job. No drugs, no excessive drinking, no huge parties unless we all throw it together. 6 month lease preferred but we can talk about what works for everyone.
