Beautiful Room in Sunset Park

I'm currently looking for a roommate in a 2 bedroom apartment in Sunset Park. The room is $1300 a month. It's huge and you'll only be living with one other person (me!).

ROOM

- The room is big and bright with two windows (seriously, I'm jealous of my roommate's view!).

- You can fit a large bed, a bookshelf, a dresser, a desk, and other things and still have room (seriously, see the pictures).

- Your room is on one side of the apartment and mine is on another - so privacy. Also, the walls aren't super thin.

APARTMENT

- Open space. Big, bright.

- I plan on revamping the space from what it looks like now and adding plants, a new carpet and more.

- One bathroom

- Two windows in living room

- One window in bathroom

- Bathtub w/ shower

- WE HAVE A BIDET!!!!

- The apartment gets really hot and the temperature in your room gets temperamental, but my roommate (who is here until the 1st!) can tell you more details about that. I plan on getting a new AC when my roommate leaves with his.

ABOUT ME + APARTMENT CULTURE

So, first, my name is Kyla and I'm a 26 year old (black) actress, writer, and producer living in NYC. Before COVID, I was a teaching artist + babysitter (day jobs) who left home around 12 and came back between 6 and 10, depending on the day. I cook, often, but I wash my dishes either directly after I eat or before the night is over (however, with COVID, the rebellion, and the adjustments, we sometimes wait to wash our dishes the next day). We take turns cleaning out the bathroom sink and tub and taking out the trash. We clean the stove and counters every single day, sometimes multiple times in the day, depending on how much we cook. There is no schedule, we just do it whenever. Please note that I am supppeerr supportive of the rebellion and I side with however people decide to respond to genocide (whether that's protest, looting, or "riots." I'm against none of it). I am also very much supportive of and vocal about intersectionality and us also caring about women and the LGBTQIA community as much as we care about black men. And, I although I am not queer and am cis, I more than welcome anyone from the LGBTQIA community.. which leads me to my roommate (whose leaving).

He is a (white) gay 25 year old man who still works from home during COVID. We typically socialize quite often, but particularly during dinner. Its honestly the time where we catch up on our day and we sometimes end up talking for hours after dinner (like once a week or every other week). I honestly got super lucky with him and am super sad he's leaving (he wants to live alone - UGH! Lol) But, we even did a nice, socially distant picnic with my neighbor the other day.

Speaking of, I am HIGH RISK for COVID as I got diagnosed with a respiratory condition towards the end of last year. We buy lots of hand sanitizer, disinfectant spray, Clorox, Kleenex, paper towels, toilet paper, etc. And, even though my roommate has been to the marches, he keeps himself quite clean and showers when he returns.

We will often grab the other's package or help the other out if they need it and we just genuinely get along.

No, I'm not looking for a bestie, but I am looking for a roommate who isn't super standoffish or to themselves.

Please note - we do pick up on social queues and know when to back off and are conscious of boundaries.

RENTAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be willing to co-sign a lease with me (I know that's hard with COVID, but I'm working this out with management, so still come see me, even if you're not sure!).

You will need an ID, your last pay stubs, and they will run your credit. That's it, from what they told me.
