*Large affordable room in all female house in Brooklyn*
We are looking for a long-term roommate to join us in our sweet little house in Kensington! The room is available ASAP for December 23 but negotiable if you are interested in a later move-in.
The House:
The house is located in the diverse, family-oriented neighborhood of Kensington Brooklyn about a block from the nightlife and fantastic food of Cortelyou street in Ditmas Park. There is a grocery store, pharmacy and laundromat within 4 minutes of the house. The Q train is a 10 minute walk and the F, G is about 15 minutes away.
Our apartment makes up the top two floors of the house. Our area includes a large kitchen, a living room with beautiful bay windows, a funky yellow/gold bathroom and 4 bedrooms. There is also a nice sunroom at the front of the house, a large shared backyard with a garden (fellow gardeners welcome!), a BBQ, picnic tables and bike storage as well as a private patio off the kitchen. We have a good relationship with our landlord, who has been consistently responsive to our needs. Allergy alert: there is a cat in the apartment. *No additional cats allowed.*
Us:
We are three women in our mid 20s-30s. We're all very considerate of each other and try to make sure everyone in the house feels comfortable and welcome. We have a weekly rotating cleaning schedule and everyone is conscientious about picking up after themselves in order to keep the house presentable. We do not smoke inside of the apartment. We are also lucky enough to not have any bugs in the house and want to keep it that way.
Our current roommates are all friendly, fun and considerate and we are looking for someone similar in age and temperament to round out the house - preferably another woman. We are hoping to meet a people-person who likes to go out now and then and appreciates the occasional game of Cards Against Humanity or a drink in the living room. If this sounds like you, please reach out!
A little about each of us:
Jami just completed a Master's degree in International Relations at NYU. She works as a travel agent and is an (aspiring) humanitarian worker. She loves movie nights, museum days, and caring for her very friendly cat named Havana (so if you are allergic or have a feline friend of your own this may not be the ideal location.)
Haley is a goofy Midwestern in her mid-twenties who is passionate about music, comedy shows, improv, and works in the music industry.
Krystyna is a social worker and community organizer who works for a "green" non-profit. She likes spending time in the park, biking around the neighborhood, attending lectures/workshops/protests, and seeing live music; and dreams of leaving NYC for a farm in the countryside.
If this situation sounds like a good fit for you, please send us a description of yourself and let us know when you might be free to stop by and see our place.
We are looking forward to hearing from you!
