Lg Bdrm in 2br Fort Greene Next to Barclays
Hi everyone! Thanks for reading. This is for a sub-lease starting July 1st for a bedroom in a furnished apartment with a huge living room/dining room, plenty of sun, HDR TV, Wifi network, various streaming platforms, ceiling fan, dishwasher, toaster oven, Nespresso, frother, microwave, dining table, and more!
This is for a 4-12 month sublease. I list it as short-term to make sure we have a good living chemistry, but ideally, this goes longer and we can adjust dates as needed. The room is furnished and the bed pictured is a newly purchased full-size. I prefer starting at a 4 month sublease and than extending after. There is an AC unit in your room - there is no washer/dryer in the townhouse though. I do wash and fold a block away.
The generously sized apt has a beautiful kitchen with all stainless steel appliances, large windows, great sunlight, and is on the top (3rd floor) of a townhouse next to a private park with a tennis court. There is a linen closet in the hallway, a living room walk-in closet, and a curved shower rod giving extra shower space and plenty of walk-around space throughout the apartment.
This apartment is 5 minutes to almost every single subway line (2345BQCGNDR)! You can get to anywhere in NY super quick without any transfers. It's a commuter's gold mine! It is a quiet block tucked away across from the Barclay's Center/Atlantic Mall so you are 2 blocks next to a Target, Marshall's, BestBuy, etc... and also 3 blocks from the amazing BAM theater and 1 block from the C/G train off Lafayette/Fulton. The area is incredible, and the neighborhood is residential and relatively quiet with friendly locals and is extremely convenient. I spent months looking for the perfect location with access to all of Manhattan and found it.
Utilities are not included in the price, but relatively cheap at around 60 each including Wifi. Security deposit and first month’s rent will be needed. As well as a reference from a past landlord/sublessor. The location is on South Oxford street between Atlantic Ave and Fulton St.
This is a 2 bedroom apartment, so you will be living with me: straight male, late 30's, Pakistani American. I'm a former NYU MA graduate in psychology and a full-time comedy writer, teacher and performer. I'm usually gone in the evenings and traveling out of town 2-3 days a week. Additionally, I take longer trips periodically, so having someone I can trust to keep the apartment in good condition is important. During the day I keep to myself writing or out gyming/running errands. I usually am coming home fairly late, and while the walls aren't thin, if you are a very light sleeper that's something to keep in mind. I am pretty clean, and regularly keep the apt looking good, so if you are clean for common space that is a huge plus. Your room is your business. I don't bring the party home, and if I do have a guest or visitor I always communicate with you first and appreciate the same. I don't smoke/drink (if you do cool with me, just no smoking indoors).
Looking for: Someone clean + Doesn't bring the party home + Easy going. Late 20's - late 30's is ideal. Guy/Gal all good to me. NO COUPLES/PETS - or gf/bf/partner who ends up being a low-key 3rd roommate.
No need to be besties, but us getting along, vibing well, and being able to warmly communicate is key. If we organically become closer that's great; but I am very indepdent, so having a no pressure, no drama or social obligation household works best for me. A relaxed, clean place to come home and recharge. The apartment is on the top floor of a townhouse, so there are only two other apartments. I have a good relationship with the neighbors below me and the landlord and his wife on the first floor, so being friendly (in the few times you may bump into them) is important. Overall, pleasant etiquette around the apt is appreciated.
If you are interested, please send me a little info about yourself. I. e. what you do for a living, general work hours and feel free to message me for more details. Please send me a social media link of any kind, so we know we aren't serial killers and save time. I try to share as much information about me as possible, but if you don't tell me anything about yourself it reads as a red flag for next steps. The next steps after that would be scheduling a 15-min Zoom tour/meet, then in-person. Thanks for looking!

About me:
I'm a straight Pakistani American male in my late 30's. I'm a comedy writer, teacher and performer and I love stand-up. I love to laugh and am pretty warm around people when out and about. At home, I like to recharge, get lost in my creative thoughts, and highly value personal space. I make basic healthy food occasionally (I'm really just microwaving something from Trader Joe's, lol), I love dogs (but I don't have a pet). I moved to NY for graduate school at NYU, and after graduation, I shifted from Psychology to Comedy. Please don't ask me to tell you a joke! I'm into jazzy instrumentals, hip-hop, classical music, psychology, video game culture (despite not having the time to play) and various TV shows (currently Severance!).
