Roommate wanted!! Amazing apartment @ Grand St L

Hi all!

My name is Claire. I am a chill preschool teacher who is looking for someone to split the rent with beginning May 1st. I have an unfurnished, vacant apartment in mind, and we would both be moving in at the same time.

I lived in the apartment for 2 years, but when the L was scheduled to shut down in spring of 2019, my current roommate and I both moved out. When the city decided NOT to shut down the L after all I was sooo sad that I'd let that place go because I had absolutely loved that apartment and that area. I was nearby recently though and saw a For Rent sign in the window, so I called the number, spoke to the landlord, and decided to move back in at a lower rent than what I'd paid before! Looking for someone to be my roommate so that my cat, Haberdash, and I can move back home!!!

About me: I am a friendly, quiet, and responsible person. I'm an early childhood teacher, so I have early mornings and appreciate having grown-up down time at the end of the day. I love to chill out with some music and wine and just unwind. My main interests include cooking and baking, yoga, reading, friends and family, coffeeshops and restaurants, spending time in parks, movies and Netflix, etc. I value my alone time and love my own space (part of my budding self-care routines), but think I strike a good balance between alone time and being social with friends. I have a steady income and often babysit, housesit or tutor to supplement my teacher salary. I am always on time with my rent and other bills.

I have a cat named Haberdash, who I rescued two years ago (he grew up in this apartment!!). He' a quirky dude who was the runt of the litter and didn't get a lot of mothering before landing in a shelter - it took him about a year to learn how to jump, for example lol - but he's generally up to speed now :) He is fine with other people and other pets, if a little stand-off-ish at first.

About the apartment: The apartment is a simple one, with two large rooms at either end of a small shared common space and kitchen, and a small but full-sized bathroom. It is on the second floor. The rent for both rooms is $1000, they gave me a deal since I've already been a tenant! My roommate and I each paid about $70 each in utilities, so I imagine that would be about the same this time around. I would prefer to live in the bedroom I had before which is the one in the back. I have lived in the front bedroom before (for the first 6 months I lived there) with the pretty French doors and can confidently say it is an equally awesome and beautiful space. I have a good relationship with the landlords, and they live offsite but have always been very responsive and helpful when I've needed them!
